Labor Day is for working…right?
It’s now Monday and while folks are BBQ’ing, having drinks, and playing frisbee, I am couped inside getting some work done. This has been one of my more productive weekends, I need more 3-day weekends like this.
Saturday, I had a productive meeting with a husband and wife team that I am outsourcing some things to. The wife is to be my new local assistant, she is picking up where the last assistant left-off with hand addressing and stuffing the envelopes for my direct-mail (yellow letter) campaign. The husband is actually a programmer who is a co-worker at my nine to five, I’m subbing some web development work to him. This is great because I can use him for the simple stuff that I don’t have the time/will to do myself and I can still use the firm out of New Hampshire to sub out the larger projects. Plus, this husband/wife team seem very honest and accountable. And even if they weren’t, I can’t be dodged when we work for the same company, lol.
Sunday, I spent 7 hours on editing video for the Champaign-Urbana Youth Hockey Association (that’s not a typo…7 hours). I’m not sure if I mentioned this before, but I was contacted to do this video for this organization by a Realtor/Investor that was associated with the Duncan rehab. There seems to be a growing demand for my video-creation/internet marketing service. As I mentioned in my most recent video, while at the house in Mahomet, Illinois, I just might structure a separate company that specializes in this. I’m thinking…recruit some U of I film students to sub out the filming and editing to, I’ll just take a cut off the top…hmmm. So many opportunities, but each day is still only 24 hours long…what a rip off. I’ll have to squeeze some more time and thought into that idea when I can. But anyway, here is the rough cut of the promotional video I created for CUYHA. I honestly feel that this is some of my best work, Spike Lee better watch his back!
Today, I’ll probably end-up spending another 7 hours creating the videos and internet marketing materials for the Mahomet, IL property at 1007 Beaver Creek. That homeowner wants to sell his house, car (BMW 645i….aw yeah), and bedroom furniture set. It’s about 2:30pm (CST) now, so at about 9:30pm you should see another post from me with the videos and additional detail about this estate. Until, then…enjoy your baby-back ribs, chicken wings, and whatever else you people eat. Can you sense the jealousy? Well good, because the tables will turn when I start scanning and uploading images of my checks to this here blog, MUWAHAHAHA!
