The Open-Source Investor (more-so than before)

December 14th, 2010

It’s the end of another long night.  It’s actually 4:18am right now and I’m just now wrapping up my Monday.  I kind of had to redeem myself from earlier today because I spent nearly the ‘entire’ day stuck on a technical issue with one of my websites.  Thus, the reason I don’t have a passion for anything IT (Information Technology).  Things are beautiful when they work…but when they don’t, I feel like breaking stuff!  But, the good news is that I got it taken care of.  Instead of going the manual route, I had to break-down and buy a plugin to do all of the dirty work for me.  That’s what I get for being cheap, I guess.  But enough about technical stuff for now.

I’ve been thinking all day today (in between curse words spewed at my computer screen) about how to take this blog to the next level.  To be honest, I’m starting to get bored with it.  And I think, if I was a reader, I’d be a bit bored of reading it too.  I’ve been keeping this journal for just over 2 years.  And it’s time to kick things up a notch to make it more enticing to read and as important, more enticing for me to want to contribute.

When I need to working
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I’ve known about virtual assistants for some time now, but have been burned by the few that I’ve had.  By the way the ones that burned me were american.  So much for providing US jobs huh…

Short Sales Suck…or Do They?

November 23rd, 2010

Yo! So I turned Thirty today.  And I’m loving it. Thank God for the privilege to see another birthday!  And that is for shizzle.  Statisically, I think I was supposed to be dead or in jail like 5 years ago or earlier.  That’s both funny and not funny at the same time.

Skipping your real estate tax payment? I wish you would

November 1st, 2010

Yo! I just want to start-off this post by expressing my extreme discontent with working at this moment in time. I’ve been working so hard that I’ve started eating bad (junk and fast-food), working out less, drinking more, etc.  That sounds like a cliche of the “working man”, now that I think about it.  There are a lot of people that “wake-up” with an extra 30 pounds due to such bad habits. It’s a bad chain reaction.  Long-hours lead to less time for balanced meals which lead to less energy to workout and as far as the drinking part…I just like malt-liquor.  Which was never a problem when I burned them off.  My six-pack has turned into a four-pack and it’s fading.  Dammit!  I gotta stay fit.  Without health there’s no wealth. I’m way too sexy.  I need to find a new athletic challenge.  Usually that keeps me going.  If you can remember, I planned to run a half-marathon on Halloween.  But my running partner got injured in a car wreck, so that plan was scrapped as I didn’t want to run another marathon alone…BORING.  Part of this entire problem is because I’m bored with the routine of life right now…and I really hate when life is boring.  I need to move asap!  A friend from college told me recently that her job is moving her to Greece for like 2 months next Spring.  She said I’d be welcome to visit for an extended time.  That sounds right-up my alley right about now.  We’ll see…

The Little Deal that got Smaller

September 29th, 2010

So, I’ve stopped chasing ‘skinny’ deals a few months ago.  But when they come right to me, I can’t help but to see if I can do something with them with little effort.  Perhaps that’s still a downfall of mine, that I must learn to overcome…I could be blind to the big-deals when I even give a small-deal a look for a few moments.

How do I save webpages…especially password protected ones

September 27th, 2010

I’ve got a quick tip this evening that I figured I’d share.  This tip isn’t so much related to real estate but it can come in handy as I’ve been using it for quite some time.  It’s called “ScrapBook” and it’s a Firefox add-in.  With this add-in, you can save a series of webpages for off-line viewing.  You may be saying to yourself, “what’s the big deal, I can do that already”.  Well, while it’s true that with most web browsers you can download a page for later viewing.  With this add-on you can download an entire website for later viewing.  And while viewing the off-line version, you wouldn’t notice that it wasn’t live.

I finished the 1007 Beaver Creek video at around 3:00am.? Since I have to be in at work at 7, I figured what is the point in sleeping.? So here I am.? I’ve been trying to perfect some settings on my WordPress blog this evening, huge time drain.? As you may have noticed, I switched the theme.? I only did that because the old one had a column of info that I could not manipulate.

Might have found another niche

Onward and Upward

August 20th, 2009

Man, I have been slacking completely on my blogging. I’m back on it though. I haven’t posted any ‘Accountability Tuesday’ updates lately because as I mentioned, I wasn’t going to do so until I completed the launch of my direct mail campaign. It’s still not launched yet. I’m very close however, as I have the mail-merge setup, all of the stationary, and I’ve selected a college student with nice handwriting to handwrite my envelopes and stuff them (all 900 for $120 or $0.13 each). This same college student is going to act as my phone receptionist and field my calls during the day. I found this girl on CraigsList and haven’t met her yet, however she stands far above the other candidates and just from the looks of her on paper. She sent me her resume and this girl is solid, college senior, great relevant work experience, good GPA, etc. I’m to meet her this weekend so that I can get her the materials to get started on this first project of hers’. I can already tell, this girl is a real go-getter…my kind of people. I’m already loving the idea of having a local assistant.
